CONDOS EYED AT SCHOOL SITE.(Local)

A group of Saratoga Springs developers proposed Monday conversion of the former Menands School building into a condominium complex at a meeting of the village Board of Trustees.

The developers, Bruce Hungershafer, Jeffrey Ray and Leonard A. Mancini, told the board they would like village approval to build up to 16 condominium units on the 1.6-acre site.

Village officials said a zoning change would be necessary before condominiums could be constructed. The area is zoned R-1 for single-family use but the site is next to an R-3 zone, which allows multi-family occupancy, Mancini said.
