NSW: Breakout foiled at Villawood as detainees riot
Asylum seekers have attempted a mass break-out from Villawood detention centre in Sydneyrioting and allegedly setting fire to buildings.
Police say twenty detainees attempted to escape by ramming a stolen vehicle througha perimeter fence at 10.30 pm AEDT last night.
A police spokesman says a police vehicle blocking the gates stopped the escape attempt.
