Fed: PM says scale of misery greater in World Wars I and II
Prime Minister JOHN HOWARD says the scale of misery and death was greater in the worldwars than it is now in the war on Iraq.
He's told Tasmanian radio 7LA if media had been embedded inside military units in thetwo world wars perhaps those conflicts may not have lasted as long.
Mr HOWARD's made the comment after being asked about media coverage in the war on Iraq.
He says it's impossible to say how long the war on Iraq will last -- though everybodyaims for a short war.
He says the first Gulf war lasted for 41 days and this one has been going for 13 days.
